Tucked away in the rolling hills and woodland of Lincolnshire, Cadwell Park is one of the UK's most popular circuits, its "mini-Nürburgring" tag well deserved due to its sweeping undulations, hairpin bends, and technical demands. In 2019, the traditional circuit celebrated its 85th anniversary and continues to be a motorcyclist and racing fan favourite.
A former motorcycle circuit, Cadwell Park was extended in 1953 to nearly twice its original 1.3-mile length to make way for its first car race. The circuit now exists in three layouts: the Woodlands Circuit, the Club Circuit, and the Full Circuit, each offering its own adrenaline fix.
Cadwell's most notorious characteristic is the Mountain section, a steep ascent that sends bikes soaring upwards, frequently airborne. This legendary stretch of circuit has transformed Cadwell into a Bennetts British Superbike Championship highlight, attracting thousands of fans every year to witness the world's best riders tackle one of motorsport's ultimate challenges. The yearly superbike event is a spectacle in every sense, and it is now well established as one of Lincolnshire's largest sporting events.
As well as bikes, Cadwell Park has become a thriving center of club-class motorsport. Events range from the retro nostalgic Vintage Sports-Car Club Festival and Historic Sports Car Club Wolds Trophy to traditional motorcycle meetings and scenic rallies. No longer a home for top car championships, the tight, winding circuit promises close wheel-to-wheel racing throughout.
For track day veterans, Cadwell is Mecca. Its mix of stunning scenery, demanding corners, and old-school motorsport character makes every lap a memorable one. Regardless of whether you're attending to race, watch, or just absorb the atmosphere, Cadwell Park offers an experience as exhilarating as it is iconic. It's more than a circuit—a pilgrimage for motorsport fans.
